Kate Borger


Kate is the High School Program Coordinator in our department. She oversees the multidisciplinary Fairchild Challenge at Phipps outreach program for middle and high schools and the Learning for a Greener Future summer internship program for underserved youth. Kate holds a B.A. in Liberal Arts from New York University and an M.A. in Teaching English as a Second Language from University of Massachusetts. She is also a member of the American Public Gardens Association. For 11 years, she hosted “The Roots and Rhythm Mix” on WYEP in Pittsburgh and taught English as a Second Language, but left the fields of radio and ESL in pursuit of her increasing interest in plants and the environment.
